Philip Kofi Alimo holds a PhD in Transportation Engineering from Tongji University, China. He has participated in research projects in Africa, China, and France.

He is currently working on the FORBAC project under the France 2030 MOBIDEC program with a specific focus on determinants of cycling and modeling of its socio-economic and environmental impacts.

Short Biography

Hana Gharrad is a Researcher in Sustainable Urban Mobility at LAET-Transportation Urban Planning Economics Laboratory, ENTPE-Ecole Nationale des Travaux Public l’Etat Lyon, France. She obtained her PhD in Transportation Science from Transportation Research Institute (IMOB), Hasselt university Belgium and her master degree in Statistics and Data Science from Data science Institute (DSI) , Hasselt university Belgium . Her research work focuses on Sustainable Urban Mobility, Smart Cities, Intelligent Transportation System and Data-driven solutions. She contributed to research projects like Search and Rescue (Horizon Europe 2020) and RAISE (Research Analysis Identifier System).

– Dissertation: Multi-Dimensional Internet of Drones Framework for Smart City Applications: a five-stage methodology to develop a collaborative drone architecture, enabling drones to switch between selfish and collaborative behaviors while addressing uncertainty, dynamic regulations, and mission efficiency.

  • 2020: Search and Rescue: Emerging technologies for early localization of entrapped victims and advanced wearables for risk assessment and first responders’ safety in SAR operations. The key objective of S&R is to develop and promote the underlying framework (interoperability among systems and equipment, training and awareness) so that responders at all levels of command have access, familiarize and evaluate innovative solutions. Through a series of large-scale pilot scenarios, this EU-funded Search and Rescue project designed, implemented, and tested a highly interoperable open architecture platform for first responders, including advanced front-end equipment systems and backend applications, improving the decision-making of first responders and providing a dynamic common operational picture of the crisis. https://search-and-rescue.eu

Research

My research activities focus on analyzing people’s mobility practices, the factors influencing them, and household budgets. Similarly, I work on the theme of urban goods with a focus on construction logistics and urban logistics. I primarily use quantitative methods with a recourse to qualitative methods. My study areas include France (Lyon, Grenoble, Clermont Ferrand) and Lebanon.
